Barn Owl

I've had a great day today, on the way to school this morning, I saw a barn owl, only a couple of meters away from the car, the closest i've ever seen one. I once saw one at Cley next the sea in Norfolk, but in flight and quite far away. Such a great way to start off the day. I thought it was a little strange that it was so close to the roadside and in the morning, I wouldn't have said it was a great place for owls to be hunting.

If only I had my camera, I would have got some amazing shots, possibly with it hunting as well, but i didn't have my camera, and I had to get to school otherwise I would have been late.

Then in my Geography lesson I saw a flock of goldfinch out the window, and after school a song thrush singing, which was really lovely to listen to, such a lovely song and a great way to end the day.

So a great day, i've seen some great birds, here they are:

  • Song thrush
  • Goldfinch
  • Barn owl
  • Blue tits
  • Blackbirds
  • Chaffinch

A Barn owl on the way to school! I am so jealous, i haven't seen one for ages.

All this warm Sun recently has sparked up quite a few Birds near me, including a Singing Song thrush and Robin right above me at my Bus stop in the morning on the way to school.

Plus today my Dad said he saw his first Butterflies of the year today, 2 Tortoiseshells, I can't wait till the Summer!

It's a bit early for butterflies isn't it?
Global warming probably.

I've heard as well, daffodils have been seen around the country, and that was a few weeks back. Daffodils arn't supposed to flower until mid March, not mid January. A sure sign of global warming.

The Daffodils and (cultivated) Fritillaries in my Garden are flowering much earlier than they usually do. Plus i remember seeing quite a lot of blossom out on Trees in December near my school? Surely that's not right?

Yeah global warming it's incredibly worrying. I don't really want to know whats going to happen to the wildlife in years to come. Very drastic consequences probably.

Yerrr, barn owls are seen more often in the day during winter. Dunno why, they make the best of the nicer weather when they can i think. Amy xxx
