Rizzo’s dolphin trapped in River Clyde

A Rizzo’s dolphin swam into the River Clyde in Glasgow. It has been said that there is a possibility that the is dolphin is depressed and has gone into the river to die, and is sending out distress signals. Yet another depressing and upsetting story. Read the article if you would like to know more.

Hi Anna,
Nice blog you have there, I picked it up from Mostlymacro. I like your account of your Norfolk trip, a place I have been to on many occasions even though it is more than 300 miles from me!
I hope the birding etc comes along well...keep it up.

Sad story. Probably damage caused by a propeller. Do you subscribe to BBC Wildlife Magazine Anna? Interesting article this month on Basking Sharks in our waters. The researchers differentiate often through fin damage caused by boats.

Hi Anna....It always makes me so sad to read stories of beeched dolphins or indeed any other marine life. There never seems to be an answer to these situations, does there?

It is wonderful to meet another Nature lover with the same name as me! I choose not to read the article of the Dolphin as it saddens me and I just cannot risk getting into a depressed state! I will hold that Dolphin in my prayers. I try to contribute to as many Wildlife causes as I can.Respect our marine life save our planet!
