Ogston Reservoir

Yesterday afternoon after going to Cromford in the morning, I went to Ogston Reservoir, to go bird watching. It was a great afternoon. Here are some of the photographs taken, and a short movie.

Common Snipe:
This snipe came to about a metre away from the front of the hide, meaning I could get some good photographs of it.

I managed to get a little bit of footage.

Blue Tit:

Willow Tit:

Great Tit:
Even though this picture is blurred due to movement, I think it works really well.

Long Tailed Tit:

Blue Tit:

Great Spotted Woodpecker:
After waiting an hour at the bird hide, the woodpecker came, yet was scared off by something falling in the near by stream, it eventually came back, this is when I got this photograph.

Rabbit:

Baby Rat:
It's so cute!
Grey Squirrel:
(I can see you!)

WOW! So much wildlife there! I love the video of the snipe. We don't see alot of them around here. I have seen Wilson's Snipes on occasion, but only rarely.
Your flower pictures are beautiful. Maybe spring will come here after all. I can't wait! :)

Thanks for stopping by my site, Anna, because it led me to yours. Terrific photography! How exciting to get so close to a snipe--wonderful shots!

I so enjoy seeing the birds on your blog that we never get in PA. The 'tit' birds are different and so is your woodpecker. My friend posted a Wilson's Snipe just recently but I have never seen one of those here either. Great shots!

great stuff Anna, especially the snipe. They are so secretive it's really hard to get close to them.

Thank you for visiting my blog...your photos are wonderful. I loved the wing motion of the Great Tit. I don't see many of the birds you've presented in my corner of the world...thanks for sharing. Thoroughly enjoyed it. :)

Excellent photography there, well done!
I have been tagged by someone on this 'blogging game' so I have to tell you that I have chosen you, as you are one of my favourite blogs, to write a 6 word poetic sentence about your birding then tell 5 other bloggers to do the same.

Very nice pics! I love the snipe and all the tits. You have such interesting little birds that we don't have here. Always enjoy seeing new ones. Looks like a great place to take pictures.
